Overview

This itinerary combines the iconic wildlife of Northern Tanzania with the breathtaking spectacle of Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. June marks the dry season in both regions, offering excellent wildlife viewing opportunities as animals congregate around water sources. It's also a great time to witness the Great Migration in the Serengeti.

Itinerary

Arrival: Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be met by your driver-guide.

 

  Transfer: Enjoy a comfortable and scenic transfer to your hotel in Arusha. The drive takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic.

 

 Accommodation: Check in to the Arusha Serena Hotel. Take some time to relax and acclimate to the Tanzanian environment.

 

  Dinner: Dinner and overnight stay at Arusha Serena Hotel.

Morning: After breakfast at the hotel, you will be driven to Serval Wildlife in the Siha District.

 

  Activities: Spend the day with a unique wildlife interaction experience. The sanctuary offers close encounters with animals like lions, giraffes, zebras, and various antelopes in a safe, controlled environment. You may have the opportunity to feed and photograph the animals under the supervision of trained keepers.

 

  Lunch: Enjoy lunch at the sanctuary.

  Afternoon: Continue your exploration of the sanctuary, learning about their conservation efforts.

 

  Return: In the late afternoon, you will be driven back to Arusha.

  Dinner: Dinner and overnight at Arusha Serena Hotel.

Morning: After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin your journey to Tarangire National Park. The drive takes around 2-3 hours.

  Safari: Upon arrival, you will immediately begin your first game drive. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds, iconic baobab trees, and abundant wildlife. Keep an eye out for lions, leopards, giraffes, and a wide variety of bird species.

 

  Lunch: Enjoy a packed lunch at a scenic picnic spot within the park.

  Afternoon: Continue your game drive, exploring the diverse landscapes of the park, including river valleys, woodlands, and savannahs.

  Accommodation: Drive to Tarangire Safari Lodge, located with stunning views over the landscape.

 

  Dinner: Dinner and overnight at Tarangire Safari Lodge

  Morning: Wake up to the sounds of the African bush. After breakfast, embark on an extended game drive in Tarangire.

 

 Activities: The day is dedicated to further exploring the park's highlights. Look for more of its diverse wildlife, and perhaps consider a walking safari with an armed guide to get a different perspective of the ecosystem.

 

  Night Game Drive: After a rest and dinner at the lodge, you will have a thrilling night game drive. With spotlights, you'll search for nocturnal animals like civet cats, genets, porcupines, and possibly a lion or leopard on the hunt. This is an exclusive activity offered by a few lodges within the park.

 Morning: After breakfast, you will check out and begin your scenic drive to the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. The journey offers a great opportunity to see the changing landscapes of Northern Tanzania.

 

  Lunch: Stop for a packed lunch en route.

  Afternoon: Enter the Serengeti, one of Africa's most famous safari destinations. Begin your first game drive as you make your way to the lodge.

 

 Accommodation: Check in to Serena Central Serengeti, your home for the next three nights. The lodge is perfectly situated to maximize your safari time in the central Serengeti, known for its high concentration of big cats.

 

  Dinner: Dinner and overnight at Serena Central Serengeti.

 Full Days: Spend the next two days on full-day game drives in the Serengeti. In June, you have an excellent chance of witnessing the Great Wildebeest Migration as the herds move north in search of greener pastures.

 

  Activities: Your safari activities will be tailored to the movement of the wildlife. Your experienced guide will drive you to prime locations for spotting lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, and countless other species.

 

  Lunch: You will have either a packed lunch on the plains or return to the lodge for a hot lunch.

 

  Optional Activity: Consider an optional hot air balloon safari for a breathtaking aerial view of the Serengeti at sunrise (additional cost).

  Transfer: After an early lunch, you will be transferred to a local airstrip in the Serengeti (such as Seronera - SEU).

 

 Flight to Nairobi: Board your flight to Nairobi, Kenya (NBO). This flight typically involves a short layover or a connection.

 

  Transfer: Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), you will be met by a representative who will assist you with the transfer to a hotel near the airport, or you may choose to wait for your connecting flight within the airport itself.

 

  Dinner: Dinner and overnight in Nairobi (or wait for your connecting flight).

 Morning: After an early breakfast (or depending on your flight schedule), you will be transferred back to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO).

 

  Flight to Victoria Falls: Board your Kenya Airways flight from Nairobi to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe (VFA). Kenya Airways offers direct flights on certain days of the week, with a flight time of approximately 3-4 hours.

 

  Arrival: Upon arrival at Victoria Falls International Airport (VFA), you will be met and transferred to your lodge.

 

Accommodation: Check in to the Victoria Falls River Lodge for your 3-night stay.

 

  Activities: Settle in and enjoy the lodge's tranquil location on the banks of the Zambezi River. The lodge offers a variety of activities, including a tour of Victoria Falls, Zambezi River cruises, and game drives in Zambezi National Park.

 

  Dinner: Enjoy dinner and overnight at Victoria Falls River Lodge.

Spend a full day exploring the wonders of Victoria Falls. The iconic "Walk Through the Rainforest" provides spectacular views of the falls from various viewpoints. You can also opt for a helicopter flight over the falls (known as the "Flight of Angels") or a thrilling Zambezi River cruise. All these activities can be arranged.
